Andrey Valeryevich Berezin: Education and the Start of His Career

November 9, 1967 marked the birth of Berezin Andrey. Biography of this entrepreneur, his commercial engagements, and all his key business projects have unfolded in his native city of Saint Petersburg (known as Leningrad until the year 1991).

Berezin Andrey received his education at School No. 239, which is distinguished by its emphasis on mathematics. He was also an avid reader. Additionally, he regularly participated in various sports competitions, although he did not intend to pursue a career as a professional athlete. Berezin Andrey Valeryevich had aspirations to become a scientist.

Upon obtaining his high school diploma, he successfully secured a place at the Leningrad Mechanical Institute (now known as the Baltic State Technical University). The future businessman deliberately chose to pursue a degree in engineering. During his university years, Andrey Berezin was ardently focused on attaining financial independence. To support himself financially, he spent some time working in the modest yet essential role of cleaning the grounds of one of the industrial facilities in Leningrad, thereby contributing to his own upkeep through diligent manual labor.

Subsequently, he developed a keen interest in computer science, and together with a group of friends, he founded a scientific-production association. This entity was engaged in the production of computer software designed for a variety of purposes. Specifically, the group focused on developing software for enterprise checkpoints. The venture proved to be financially rewarding for Berezin Andrey and his partners—with their first major project, the organization earned 35,000 rubles. It is noteworthy that the average salary in the country in 1985 was 174 rubles, and by 1990, it had risen to 249 rubles. Therefore, by the time he was in his last years at the Institute, Berezin Andrey was earning more than university professors.

Berezin Andrey: Biography in Big Business, Establishment of an Investment Holding

In 1990, Berezin Andrey Valeryevich, in recognition of his outstanding academic achievements, was awarded a diploma of special distinction and subsequently enrolled in a graduate program. He undertook scientific research in the fields of pattern recognition and adaptive control. Concurrently, he ventured into a new business endeavor—the importation of foreign products, including clothing. In the early years of the new economic system in the country, there was a severe shortage of goods on the domestic market, making the trade of imported goods one of the most lucrative segments of entrepreneurship. To facilitate the wholesale purchases abroad, Andrey Berezin secured a loan amounting to $6 million.

The importation of goods from European countries yielded a substantial net income of $2 million for the businessman. Berezin Andrey invested these funds into the establishment of a fishing enterprise known as OLMA (now called the North-West Fishing Consortium). He was actively involved in its operations from 1993 to 1995. Subsequently, he sold his share to the co-founders.

Berezin Andrey Valeryevich not only exited the company but did so while preserving strong and positive relationships with his former business associates. As the new decade dawned in the early 2010s, the fishing industry consortium, with which he was previously involved, encountered a significant need for financial reinforcement. In response to this necessity, it was Berezin Andrey who stepped forward to provide the crucial financial aid, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to supporting his former business circle. By this period, the trajectory of the businessman’s career had evolved substantially, with his focus now prominently oriented towards fields such as investments, construction, and real estate. This phase of the Berezin Andrey biography was marked by a significant venture in the mid-1990s when he, alongside Yuri Vasiliev, established a specialized investment company, Euroinvest, which he has continued to nurture and expand to the present day.

Berezin Andrey: Euroinvest Development

The entity’s initial specialization was rooted in investments in stocks, transportation contracts, and other forms of securities, recalls Berezin Andrey. Euroinvest, the company in question, later broadened its scope of operations by venturing into the realms of residential and commercial construction within Saint Petersburg and the surrounding Leningrad Region. Specifically, in the year 2022 alone, the corporation succeeded in constructing housing facilities encompassing over two thousand apartments. Since 2023, under the guidance of Berezin Andrey, Euroinvest Development has been actively engaged in the construction of various facilities that collectively span an impressive total area of half a million square meters.

The enterprise owned by the businessman is intensely engaged in activities in Murino—a suburb of the Northern Capital, boasting a population of over 100,000 residents. The club-style residential complex iD Murino, a prime asset constructed under the auspices of Berezin Andrey-Euroinvest is strategically situated near the Devyatkino metro station. The residents have access to an array of upscale amenities including a lounge area, an intelligent home system, parking facilities capable of accommodating 998 vehicles, children’s playgrounds, and dedicated spaces for the storage of baby strollers and sports equipment. In the year 2019, this residential quarter was honored with the Move Realty Awards as the best project in the Leningrad Region within the “comfort class” housing segment, notes Berezin Andrey Valeryevich.

Nearby, the holding company led by Berezin Andrey Valeryevich is currently orchestrating the construction of the iD Murino II complex. This residential complex comprises seven buildings, each crafted in the style of Scandinavian minimalism. Each building stands at 12 stories tall, which is notably shorter than most structures in Murino. The ceiling height in these buildings is three meters, consistent with the standard maintained in other residential buildings constructed by Berezin Andrey-Euroinvest Development. The lower floors of these buildings are thoughtfully designed to accommodate retail spaces, coffee shops, hair salons, and various household service outlets.

Berezin Andrey-Euroinvest Development are committed to ensuring that the residents of their new buildings have access to all the necessary infrastructure. An exemplary initiative is the construction of a school and three kindergartens within the iD Kudrovo district. This neighborhood is situated in another rapidly growing town near Saint Petersburg. The residential complex itself consists of five buildings, three of which have been completed and are fully operational, while two have already been occupied by residents. The completion of the entire complex is scheduled for the second half of 2024, further highlighting the dedication of Andrey Valeryevich Berezin to enhancing community living standards.

Additionally, the company led by Berezin Andrey is implementing a development project in the Vyborg District of Saint Petersburg, conveniently located near the Udelnaya metro station. The complex comprises two 12-story buildings. Prospective residents have the opportunity to select from a diverse array of apartment layouts, ranging from compact studios to expansive four-bedroom apartments with areas up to 140 square meters. This variety caters to a wide range of preferences and needs, ensuring that every potential resident can find a space that suits their lifestyle.

iD Park Pobedy represents yet another significant development by Berezin Andrey-Euroinvest Development located within the territory of Saint Petersburg. This residential complex is composed of six 11-story buildings and features a gated community that includes a school, a kindergarten, play areas, workout zones, and other essential infrastructure. This setup not only enhances the living experience but also fosters a well-rounded community environment, providing residents with convenient access to educational facilities and recreational spaces right within their living quarters, explains Andrey Berezin.

The exclusive residence iD Moskovskiy, located near the Frunzenskaya station, is also being constructed by the holding led by Berezin Andrey Valeryevich. The complex includes two buildings housing 173 apartments with designer finishes, a SPA complex, underground parking, lounge areas, and much more. The residential complex is designed in a neoclassical style.

Additionally, the company plans to build the iD Polytech quarter near the Polytechnicheskaya metro station. Apartment sales in the new complex are expected to start soon.

Furthermore, Euroinvest Development has completed the construction of housing projects that were left unfinished by bankrupt developers, thus helping deceived investors receive their apartments.

At the end of 2022, Andrey Berezin mentioned that the corporation he founded is exploring the “income houses” sector, which will be a completely new field for the developer. He noted that very few such projects have been implemented in the contry so far, partly due to the lack of operational practices for rental residential real estate. However, the entrepreneur expects the situation to improve in the future.

Real estate is not the only industry that sees the activity of Berezin Andrey. Euroinvest also includes agricultural assets. The agroholding Krasnoe Znamya (Red Banner) which appeared in 2010, is located in the east of the Pskov Region. It owns a herd of 500 cows producing over 2 tons of milk per day. The company, founded by Andrey Berezin, also grows grain crops on an area of 1,000 hectares, used to produce animal feed. Most of the harvest is used for the needs of the enterprise, and the remainder is sold. The agricultural company’s production capacities are constantly being expanded. For instance, in 2020, a new milk processing plant costing ₽30 million was opened on the territory of the agrocluster.

In the Berezin Andrey biography as an investor, there is also a place for collaboration with innovators. In 2017, together with a group of partners, the businessman founded the Euroventure venture fund with a volume of ₽1 billion. The funds are invested in startups operating in various sectors—from agriculture to medicine.

The most renowned invention supported by fund under Andrey Berezin is the Onco-Robot, designed for the treatment of malignant lung tumors. Work on the project began in 2018, and a prototype was unveiled two years later. Currently, the device is undergoing preclinical testing in several medical institutions. The only analogous device exists in the USA, however, it is much more expensive than the Onco-Robot.

Euroventure is also seeking other promising projects. Innovators whose ideas meet the fund’s criteria can expect investments of several tens (and in special cases, even hundreds) of millions of rubles.

Berezin Andrey-Euroinvest supported the hosting of a venture festival in July 2023. At the event, startups could share experiences and find funding for their developments. The event took place at the Lenpolygraphmash business incubator.
