November 30 is far too early to talk about Christmas. However, December 1, that’s absolutely fine. Our early Christmas present for the fantastic UnLtd is to give them our November Charity of the month. It’s no more than they deserve.
This UK charity are focused on providing support to social entrepreneurs in the UK and have the largest network of this type anywhere in the world. Their strategy? Going mainstream: how can social entrepreneurship break through?
How do UnLtd do their great work?
UnLtd began in 2002 and since then they have given more than 13,000 awards to social entrepreneurs. Each day they are breaking down barriers to social entrepreneurship, so that entrepreneurs can make the UK a better place.
Social entrepreneurs make it their mission to solve social problems and issues within society.
UnLtd provides an ecosystem to social ventures and offers a support network to enable them to become a “valued and vibrant part of society,” helping social entrepreneurs at the beginning of their journey.
The support that UnLtd provide includes:
Access to pro bono expertise, such as legal advice
One example of the work done by UnLtd is their recent issuing of 72 awards to social entrepreneurs across the UK.
However, there are many other success stories that they have been involved with.
How can I help UnLtd?
There are four main ways that you can offer your support to UnLtd:
Become a funder
Contribute funding to help UnLtd continue their good work.
Become a mentor
If you’re a specialist with knowledge of your area then you can share your knowledge with UnLtd and the social entrepreneurs they support.
You can provide research to aid the work being done by social entrepreneurs.
You get directly involved in rolling out the work of social entrepreneurs within your community.
