Our first charity of 2018 is an organization that’s been helping to develop new generations of British entrepreneurs since 2010, with their graduates starting companies in areas ranging from empowerment, energy efficiency, and shortbread.
Congratulations, The New Entrepreneurs Foundation (NEF), we applaud you for the excellent work you’ve done, are doing, and will do in the future.
How Does NEF Build The Next Generation Of British Entrepreneurs?
NEF’s mission is to, “transform UK business by developing the entrepreneurial leaders of the future.” They do this by offering 30 successful applicants a year the chance to embark on an intensive training programme that has 5 key elements:
1. A Paid Work Placement
The next generation of British entrepreneurs work with an existing entrepreneur and see up close what it takes to run a successful business.
2. A 10-month Fast-Track Programme
NEFs aspiring entrepreneurs are given training from leading business schools, including London Business School and UCL, and learning specialists.
3. Monthly Speaker & Networking Events
Speakers, leaders, and entrepreneurs pass on their insight, experience, and connections to the gifted new entrepreneurs. Brent Hoberman (co-founder lastminute.com), and Sir Charles Dunstone (co-founder The Carphone Warehouse, are among those who have given their advice.
4. An Executive Coach
Each entrepreneur receives their own coach.
5. A Business Mentor
An individual from NEFs specialist panel guides the talented entrepreneurs towards and down their career path.
